When I was 3 my parents put me into dance at the same studio my cousin was at which was Alderwood Dance Spectrum in Lynwood, WA. I started out by doing tap and tumbling on Saturdays for an hour; I have tried every style of dance growing up and loved tap, jazz and lyrical and ballet the most. I went through levels very fast growing up and started participating in my studio’s production of the Nutcracker and had multiple solo roles growing up. I started doing pointe when I was in 8th grade and was able to dance on pointe for a few years. I started doing competitive dance when I was a freshman in high school and did it until I graduated high school. This will be my 3rd year at Movement Montana as a teacher!
What is your favorite memory during a performance or a class?
My favorite memory during a performance was when I got the lead role in my dance studio's production The Nutcracker as Clara. It was the best experience because I was able to star in the lead role and dance all by myself on stage for the first time and to also be challenged to push myself to work harder in a lead role.
What dance genre is your favorite?
My favorite genre of dance is Jazz and Tap! I love jazz because it is very fun to express yourself however you like and I also love the technique side of it because I love focusing on lines and old style jazz technique.
What do you always have to bring to the studio with you?
A few things I have to bring with me to the studio are my iPad for music of course, a dongle which we use to be able to play music, water and a snack.
