Jaci LaFountain
My name is Jaci LaFountain and I am an owner, the Company Director and the Artistic Director of Movement Montana Arts Academy where I have been for 6 years. I began dancing at the age of 12 near Cincinnati, Ohio, and knew right away that my life’s goal was to own a dance studio. I have trained in genres such as ballet, tap, hip hop, jazz, musical theater, lyrical and contemporary, and now focus mostly in contemporary, jazz, and musical theater. I have traveled the country as well as internationally teaching, choreographing and dancing. My passion resides in training children to reach their fullest potential.
What is your favorite memory during a performance or a class?
My favorite memory involving dance would be when my Senior team won Nationals in Orlando, Fl, with a dance they created themselves. It brings me so much pride to know the care and instruction they are being given allows them to reach such outstanding goals.
What dance genre is you favorite?
Contemporary dance is my favorite style to teach as well as perform. The freedom it allows is incomparable.
What do you always have to bring to the studio with you?
You will never catch me at the studio without a Burt’s Bees chapstick (original flavor only!) and multiple caffeinated beverages!
